MakeSpend

The guide to Makespend

A better front door for independent work.

Makespend helps people discover great makers, creators, and communities—then gives them a direct path to support the work they find. It is built around connection, not a cut of every maker sale.

Four ideas, one platform

What Makespend does

Discovery, direct support, and conversation can live in the same place.

01

Maker commerce, direct

Makespend is a discovery platform for makers, creators, and communities. A maker can show their work, tell their story, and send a shopper straight to the place they already sell.

When someone is ready to buy, they follow the maker’s external shop or checkout link. Makespend does not sit in the middle of that sale.

02

0% platform take rate

Makers keep the sales they earn through their own storefronts, marketplaces, and checkout tools. Makespend takes zero commission on those maker sales.

That means a listing can be a useful path to discovery without asking a maker to abandon the tools, fulfillment, or customer relationship they already use.

03

Credits fund discovery

Makespend Credits are a closed-loop platform currency. They are used inside Makespend for things like profile options, visibility, placement, and other discovery features.

Credits are for participating on Makespend—not a replacement for a maker’s own sales currency or off-platform checkout.

04

Communities make it useful

Community Hubs are member-driven places to gather around a craft, scene, interest, or local idea. Members can join the discussion, create posts, and help newcomers find their footing.

Hub leaders set the tone and organize their spaces, while open discussion gives people a reason to return beyond a single transaction.

The simple version

Find it here. Support it there. Keep the conversation going.
